Erica
Native Houstonian Erica D. Davis-Rouse never thought that she would meet her future husband by writing a response to an article in the popular magazine, ESSENCE. However, once Erica connected with Bobby, fate stepped in and the rest is history.
A top-producing real estate agent in Texas, Erica earned her Bachelor’s of Arts in Journalism from Texas A&M University. After a productive and active life as a student, she worked for several radio stations before segueing from news and traffic to a successful career in radio advertising sales.
A former Texas beauty queen, Erica’s titles include Miss Black Houston Metroplex and Miss Black Texas Metroplex. Erica also won the National Miss Black & Gold Scholarship pageant, held by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.
Erica inked her name in history in 2001 by becoming an inaugural member of the Houston Texans Cheerleaders as Houston ushered in their new NFL franchise. As a former dancer, she also had the privilege of coaching the WNBA Houston Comets Dance Team.
Erica is a sought-after motivational speaker with an emphasis on developing girls into women with positive self image and self appreciation. She’s a featured speaker at an annual retreat for the freshman and sophomore women of Texas A&M University, where she presents her dynamic workshops. Erica’s national travels as a pageant contestant and then as a successful pageant coach working with girls to achieve their “tiara” dreams, helped develop her passion to work with young people and assist them in achieving their goals and dreams.
A lifelong member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and a board member for All Pro Sports Training Academy, the new Mrs. Rouse is the proud mother of a blended family, her son Evan as well as Bobby’s two teenage daughters. Her current hobbies include dancing with Word in Motion Dance Company, acting in short films and cooking.
