Today Jason Collins of the NBA comes out as the 1st male athlete from a major sport to state that he’s openly gay. Big news I would agree, but some of my fellow athletes are taking this the wrong way. I understand that as a professional athlete we are supposed to be macho, tough, and love the ladies representing the epitome of everything “Manly”! But this is 2013 and for anyone who has taken time to pay attention, times have definitely changed. I know I know the 1st thing that you HOLIER THAN THOU Bible thumpers will point out is that “The Bible” says, “Being homosexual is a sin, and that marriage is between a man and a woman”. I grew up in the church and I totally get all of the Adam & Eve stuff but at the same time I feel that people are allowed to feel how they want to feel, love who they want to love, and marry who they choose to marry! Why is it that your employer will allow individuals to carry a “Domestic Partner” on their insurance? Or that Members of Congress are changing their stance in support of Gay/Lesbian rights because someone in their family has come out as being Gay or Lesbian?

Many of the top athletes currently playing have come out in support of Jason Collins. I know the support is because many fear the public backlash and loss of endorsement opportunities as the Gay & Lesbian community possess over $800 billion in annual spending power. So of course the top athletes who have not spoken will openly support this or stay mute on the subject. I applaud Jason for coming out especially since he is still an active player, and I’m sure there will be backlash from players on and off the court as expected. Then again I’m sure his endorsements (That will grow into the Lebron James category) will help him keep his cool when he’s taunted by opposing players. THOUGHTS?

After hearing about the head basketball coach at Rutgers University getting fired for throwing basketballs at his players, I immediately laughed and said this must be a joke of some sort. I then turned to ESPN and saw what was described as a coach “ABUSING” his players. After I watched this I said, “That’s it?” and “They fired him for that?” For anyone who knew of or played for my former JUCO coach Theodore “Chap” Chaplin(Deceased), they would tell you we were pushed, shook, beat with a broom for each missed free throw in games, practiced for 3+ hours, and on top of that he made us run to the next town and back which was 7 miles away (Yes 14 miles total!) for a poor showing in a game the night before! Coach Chap as he was known was extremely tough on us, but he had our ultimate respect, attention, and it translated into WINS! He coached at Denmark Tech College for 37 years and finished with a record of 600 wins, and 117 defeats! Yes you read it right 600-117, and on top of that 3 undefeated seasons, with 28 CONSECUTIVE winning seasons! No one ever questioned his coaching style, complained to the NCAA powers to be, or went to the President of the school about his practices and how he handled the young men he coached! You know why no one through the years ever reported him? It’s because we weren’t SOFT like the kids who participate in sports now. Kids are so soft now and cannot even take being yelled at let alone have a ball thrown at them. I feel sorry for the coach, but in defense of the kids he forgot that it’s 2013 and winning would’ve kept this out of the media. He wasn’t winning, therefore any public/media outcry by a spoiled player or disgruntled former coach will get you FIRED ASAP! Coach Chap coached us hard there’s no doubt about that, but it made us all better MEN in life, and we of course our team went 29-4! Lol. Coach Bobby Knight same way – same results! Consistently winning is the key, but it’s called DISCIPLINE NOT ABUSE! THE GAME MISSES YOU COACH CHAP!!!! THOUGHTS?

OK OK….. Hear me out on this one!!!! Jay-Z is hosting a party here in Houston for All-Star Weekend Feb. 14-17 and Pre-Sale General Admission entry is $200. Nothing wrong with this as during All-Star Weekend prices at the door can sometimes double this and patrons have no problem paying this cost as they wish to rub shoulders with the ballers, celebrities, wanna-be’s, etc. Having attended multiple All-Star events over the years I’ve seen and heard it all, but the point of my story is that Jay-Z’s All Star 2013 Party is putting all WANNA BE BALLER’S on notice!! Ok now this is getting beyond ridiculous!!!!! In the past week there have been 3 shootings that have made National and probably world news, the Belcher murder-suicide, the Oregon Mall shooting, and now this shooting of Elementary school kids in Connecticut! What in the hell is going on with this country and its love for GUNS and killing people that have nothing to do with your sick, cruel, twisted, pathetic ass!!! There’s one thing if you want to take your own life, but to take another human life because you are pissed off at the world is no excuse!! The shooting at this Elementary School has taken it too far!!! How in the world can you walk into a school and MURDER innocent children??

We have adults in this country screaming “We have a right to bear arms”, and “You won’t take away my guns”, etc, etc, but your same ideological thinking is causing incidents like this!!! How in the world is it this easy for individuals to gain possession of guns and commit this type of terror on innocent people, especially kids!!! I use to own a gun only after my home was broken into multiple time while I was living in Atlanta, even once while I was home in the bed, but that was the only reason I owned one!! I only had it for a little over a year before I decided to get rid of it LEGALLY instead of keeping it as GUNS make me nervous!! Police and Military are the only people who should be able to possess and carry guns, everyone else should turn them in as this is getting totally out of control!!! The U.S. is the only country in the world with issues like this with guns, and you want to know why? The majority of countries don’t allow their citizens to possess guns and of course they don’t have MURDER-SUICIDE’S like this gun loving country of ours!!!

This is so sad and my heart goes out to the families of the kids that were MURDERED today for getting up and happily going to school to learn, only to have their lives taken away by some idiot who had MAJOR issues!!! You my friend are the scum of this earth, and for any of you GUN LOVING, I’m mad at the world bastards that are looking to copycat this event, just do me a favor, put that gun to your mouth right now and take your OWN life instead of innocent people; ESPECIALLY KIDS!!!!

A professional football player kills his girlfriend in front of her mother, drives to his job, thanks the guys who hired & coached him, then walks away from them and takes his own life!!!

Guys I know the women in our lives can get under our skin and drive us crazy, but there are too many women in this world for us, and too many men for them! The sad part is they have an infant child together and now this child is without both parents because of someone’s selfishness and stupidity!!

What could she have done?

Cheat on you? If so the hell with her, LEAVE!!

Told you she wants out of the relationship? LEAVE, try to talk about it, get counseling, or just let her go!!

Wish out loud the child wasn’t yours? Argue about it; attempt to get over it, if not LEAVE!!

Spent all of your money? It’s gone now so get over it and divorce her, LEAVE her, or work it out

Tells you the child isn’t yours? LEAVE, get a paternity test to confirm, and if the child isn’t yours move on, if so be a father to your child and find another mate!!

As you can see LEAVE is the key word here as this is what this guy should’ve done!! Now both families are without a child/brother/sister/cousin and the child is without parents because you cannot get over whatever the argument was about!!! Sorry dude, but you were SELFISH!!!! This wasn’t called for!!! All you had to do was LEAVE!!!

Alright you already know what time of year it is…… It’s HOLIDAY SEASON!!!! With this time of year comes joy, parties, friends, family, love, gifts, and of course DRAMA!!!!! While most men in the world can get along and make it through the Holiday’s without missing a beat, the ladies of the world cannot say the same…. I know, I know if you are a woman you are saying awwww here he goes again beating up on the females, but please hear me out….. During the Holiday season couples go visit one another’s family & friends, attend parties, and travel TOGETHER…. Nothing wrong with this right??!!! Right, but WRONG!!!! Even though the women in a relationship(married, engaged, girlfriend, new friend) are happy and have someone to go to events with, the SINGLE, JEALOUS, ENVIOUS, EVIL friend will find a way to throw a damper on your Holiday joy…. They will complain that you have no time for them, say, “Why didn’t you invite me to that couples only event”, talk down on anything you discuss during this time, all because they are MISERABLE & SAD that they do not have anyone to spend their Holiday season with…. They are nearly as low down as the SIDE CHICK, but they are the SIDE CHICK in a close friends clothing!!!!! I know I beat down the SIDE CHICKS during the Holiday season, but I think this type of woman is more of a threat than the SIDE CHICK, because she is close to you personally and knows how to RAIN ON YOUR HAPPY PARADE!!! Women in a meaningful relationship during the holiday’s, keep these LONELY, BITTER, & SELF CENTERED chics away from you and your HOLIDAY HAPPINESS!!!! LONELY, BITTER, SELF CENTERED single ladies please keep the NONSENSE to yourself until January 2nd….. Hopefully you can find someone to occupy your time by VALENTINE’S DAY!!!!

I knew it was coming, but in a country that was nearly torn apart decades ago over granting freedoms and rights to African Americans I was just hoping that we had taken a step in the opposite direction from those horrifying days. But here we are in 2012, yes that’s right 2012 and not 1960 but we are basically reliving those days! True indeed I hope people are voting for the candidate that they prefer based on the issues or family tradition, but I have to be real with myself that this isn’t the case. I just wish, all the hate over the color of President Obama’s skin color would cease as he nor Romney will make up any additional ground in moving this country forward until we get a House and Senate that can agree! I’m not blind or stupid and think that race isn’t an issue in this election, but we have to be reminded that President Obama couldn’t have won in 2008, and he surely won’t come close in tomorrow’s election without a large White(See my friend in the above picture) or Hispanic vote! I have to keep telling myself that we are in a better place than the past and that the racial prejudices experienced by growing up in Small-town, USA are long gone but I guess I live in my own La-La Land. If President Obama win tomorrow’s election then the backlash from CONGRESS won’t allow him to get anything done as they have the last 2 years so what does it matter who wins? It’s 2012 and the ghost of the 60’s are rearing their ugly heads, but what else should I have expected in the great country of the United States of America!!! Still the most RACIST country in the world!!!! SMH!!!! THOUGHTS!!!????

I was talking to one of my friends and we were discussing the reputation some women get (Based on financial status) if they sleep around with guy after guy, never marry, have kids, or commit to a relationship. As we were debating back and forth I told him that, “If a woman isn’t in a committed relationship regardless of how much money she makes, then why can’t she sleep with whoever she want, whenever she want?” His response, “Dude she can’t because she’s a woman, and we hold women to a higher standard than we hold ourselves.” I laughed at him and said, “What if she’s just insecure and is looking for love through sex, foreplay, or intimacy with a man.” He cut me off and said the following:

“Bobby you are playing CAPTAIN* with that insecure s%$#, IF SHE’S RICH THEN SHE’S INSECURE, BUT IF SHE’S BROKE SHE’S A WHORE!”

I dropped the phone laughing because I have never heard this phrase before, but apparently some believe there are different terms for women who are on different financial levels but sleep around. THOUGHTS????

*CAPTAIN = He’s insinuating that I’m trying to save women by saying some women maybe insecure for sleeping around.

Yesterday was my birthday and we went out with friends to a few local hot spots where we had a blast. As we were leaving the 2nd location we all witnessed a very hilarious but troubling incident. While we were standing outside at the valet waiting on vehicles to arrive, a black SUV zooms up to the valet with the driver’s window down and the driver is screaming. Everyone focused their attention on the driver as she is hysterical, so the valet walks up to her vehicle and she rips into him:

You muthaf$%@&#^ changed my radio station and I want my f%&#$@& money back!!!

She wouldn’t give the poor guy a chance to speak, as she kept screaming and repeating her displeasure with someone apparently changing the station that she was listening to prior to exiting her vehicle. After not getting what she wanted she sped off through the parking lot nearly hitting a vehicle, still cursing and screaming! We all looked at one another like what in the world just happened, as it was surreal! That must’ve been one hell of a radio station to cause this type of behavior!

On my way to work this morning, I stopped at the gas station and as I was getting out of the car I hear a couple arguing at the pumps over something that shouldn’t even be a conversation that early in the morning. The lady who is dressed in slacks, a blouse, and heels jumps out of the car slams the door and yells,

Lady: “Sorry mutha%$@&# you better find a job soon or else you’re a$$ is getting out of my house!”

Guy: Rolls down the window and screams, “You have been saying that s%$t for years and I’m still here!”

He then exits the vehicle and runs into the store behind her huffing and puffing. They come out still arguing.

Lady: “All you do is lay around all day playing a damn game and claiming you looking for a job!”

Guy: “Playing that game is gonna get me paid!”

I then proceed to laugh my a$$ off as I couldn’t hold it in anymore and apparently the guy hears me then says,

Guy: “See you got muthaf$#%@&^ out here judging me, you putting my business in these streets!”

Lady: “Business? I’m calling your mother and telling her you’re coming back for good after I get off work this evening!”

As I pull off, I start to think how can guys sit on their a$$ and feel comfortable not working!? True indeed it’s partly the lady’s fault for allowing him to drop her off to work, and then lay around all day doing absolutely nothing; but where is the guys heart, balls, and brain in this situation? There’s a job out there for him and some people will say the economy is bad but here in Houston that’s “NOT” a valid excuse. Fast food, lawn services, construction companies, and waiting tables are all options for people like this guy, but he’s too proud or just plain sorry to get off his a$$ and WORK!!!! I can’t stand PEOPLE who don’t want to work for a living!!! THOUGHTS!!!!???
